Early Literacy Learning in Room 10 Term One 

Here are some snap shots of some of the fun literacy learning that happens here in room 10. Lots of different ways to engage in literacy. We are lucky to spend an hour interacting both as a group and one on one with me to ensure focused learning can also happen. This is broken down and time spent one on one depends on them on the day. Some days they want to just hang and read and write for ages and other days they are as quick as can be so they can get back to their other games in Room 10. We have a really good routine which is working really well with the boys, using a timer so they know when their turn is to come to me. 

Acting out stories, creating some amazing marble run, car tracks and signs, one on one learning, indoor outdoor literacy/investigations happening, using recycled and reusable materials, positive social interaction, friendships and interests being shared and extended and yummy popcorn being made. Literacy comes in many forms and can be extended in so many ways. I look forward to putting some more pictures and stories up here as time goes by, showing the learning that is happening for Tawhiri, Nathanual and Fayd as they share more and more about them , their attributes, and dispostions and their ways of learning.
